Practical, weather-resistant polyethylene over solid concrete
It’ll take more than a breeze to knock your parasol over when it’s planted securely in this hefty 12kg base! Looking like beautifully-sculpted and beaten bronze roses, it’s actually made from a practical, high density, weather-resistant polyethylene over solid concrete. The ideal companion for our range of parasols, ensuring you stay shaded, even when the breeze picks up. Takes parasol poles 38-48mm thick. 47 x 8 x 51cm. Weight 12kg.

The top of the base easily flexes if the wind is even very slight. The base is now distorted causing the parasol to permantly list. As a consequence even the slightest breeze tips the parasol over. Nofit, and not worth the money.

This base cannot support a 2.7m parasol upright. When you tilt the parasol it is even worse as the whole thing becomes lop-sided. Too cheap and nasty

"Not Suitable For The Parasol"
Bought the base so the parasol would be free standing as in the picture. Had 2 attempts to tighten the bolt in the base so the sleeve was tight (second time using a socket and ratchet to ensure it was tight. parasol continued to lean and eventually toppled over in a slight breeze. A dangerous piece of equipment which can cause injury. Not happy, like quite a few others

Having ordered the 2m parasol and this base together, I find that the pole has a diameter smaller than the base insert, and the whole thing is unstable - for now I have made a plastic sleeve for the pole and so far that seems to be a reasonable ‘bodge.’ 🤞 I should not have had to do this, however! 🙁 Would recommend you fix this!
