2m Log Rack with Cover
- Safe, easy log storage
- Parallel stacking for easy access
- Logs stay dry and fungus free
Dry wood burns more efficiently providing more heat, so how you store your logs is crucial.
With the logs stacked in a parallel fashion between upright supports (which prevent toppling), our rack keeps logs up off the ground allowing the air to circulate freely, drying them quickly and efficiently.
Truly versatile, the log rack provides a full 2m of storage but can be reduced down to 1m as your log supply is used up.
Also designed to prevent fungus and insect attacks, when it rains or snows just pull the 2m cover over to keep your logs dry.
Made from steel, it measures L200cm xD35cm xH116cm (78 3/4in x13 3/4in x45 3/4in) and weighs 5.1kg (11.2lb).
Home assembly required.
A single bolt holds the two halves of the inverted 'U' shaped ends together at the top, there is no bracing strut near the base so the legs lack lateral strength and may splay but I have a plan (see below).
Assembly is straightforward with only standard M6 bolts and 'nyloc' nuts to fit the pieces together. Two 10mm (AF) spanners, ideally one a ratchet spanner or socket, are needed. Fittings are not particularly high quality, but this is reflected in the price.
The gap between the front and back rails means short logs (less than 40cm) will not fit so something is needed to hold them in place. I plan to make a ladder-style rack whose rails fit outside the existing front and back metal rails. This will hold the legs in place to prevent splaying and allow storage of shorter logs.
Overall, although the design and quality is disappointing, it’s not a disaster so I won’t be sending it back.
